Baby A - San Francisco 1 Year Old Baby Birthday Portrait Photography Session
Baby J - San Jose Newborn Baby Portrait Photograpy Session
As late as it may be, I could not resist posting about my portrait session with Baby J.
He was tiny and sweet and such a joy to photograph.
Baby J has a big sister and they are just the most adorable pair. You could tell how much L was in love with her baby brother.
Thank you, Kimberly and Mike, for allowing me to photograph your lovely children!
Kendra - Los Gatos Maternity Portrait Photography Session
Kendra had her maternity portrait session in my private studio. Although already a mom to one baby girl, she had not taken any portraits while pregnant. I was honored that she trusted me to capture this moment in her life, on her second time around.
I think this image captures Kendra so well: serene and simply beautiful!
K joined her mommy for a few images. This is one is my favorites.
There is something so special about a mommy and her first-born. (I believe, after this, K sang and danced to some Taylor Swift for us... it was amazing.)
Thank you, Kendra, for allowing me to photograph you and your growing family!
Thank You!
This year was a big year for Lena Wang Photography, with many ups and a few downs. As this year comes to a close, I wanted to take some time to say a very heartfelt "THANK YOU!" to each and every one of my amazing clients this year. It means a great deal to me that you have welcomed me into your lives, trusted me to capture this time with your children, and allowed me to share in this journey with you; even if for a mere moment.
Here are some of my favorite images from 2015.
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas spent with your families and a blessed New Year.
Here's to 2016!
Sincerely, Lena Wang

Rosa and Louis - Capitola Maternity Portrait Photography Session
Rosa and Louis have a poetic love story that can rival any great novel. They have been together forever and have traveled many miles throughout those years. One gorgeous morning, we found ourselves on the beaches of Capitola.
The beach provided a beautiful backdrop.
For several years, they lived in a home overlooking Capitola Beach and, according to Rosa, the beach is Louis' happy place. This makes perfect sense because he grew up spending the summertime in the LBC.*
Rosa and Louis have 3 handsome boys and are expecting their fourth: a baby girl!
The boys were funny and active and lovely...
Three big brothers to care for and look after their baby sister. Baby girl sure is lucky.
When not posing perfectly for me, the boys spent a lot of the time making... sandballs. (They had a much cooler name for them but that's the best I can come up with).
L has been the youngest for 5 years but looks pretty excited about his promotion next month!
Rosa, Louis, and tall, grande, and venti Louises... thank you so much for allowing me to capture this exciting, blessed time in your lives! I am so honored to have taken these images for you! I can't wait to meet short Rosa.
- Louis and I have been church friends for a long long long long long long too long time. I don't remember when I first met Rosa but I do remember Rosa and Louis' wedding invitation because it included a mini DVD with Louis speaking in Korean. It was awesome all around.
Baby L – Los Altos 1 Year Baby Birthday Portrait Photography Session
Baby L came into the studio for her 1 year portrait session with her mom, Emma, her uncle, Michael, and her maternal grandparents, Ron* and Debra. At only 1 year, she is already so loved that she travels with an entourage. Isn't she just beautiful? I adore the way Emma is looking at her baby girl. Pure love.
Debra brought this beautiful cake for her grand-daughter's session. It was perfect.
In fact, the cake was too pretty to eat so Baby L decided to chew on the candles instead. What can I say? She's a tiny problem solver.
I love watching how 1 year old babies respond differently to the cake. Some of them jump right in while others, like Baby L, prefer to daintily pat the cake.
Good cake. Good boy. (woof woof!)
Thank you for allowing me to photograph your sweet baby girl, Emma and Matt!
- In what feels like my past life, I used to work at a law office. Ron was my boss and he has truly become a mentor to me. Thank you, Ron!

Wandiversary
For our wooden anniversary, my husband and I thought it would be nice to exchange gifts. My husband is a man of many interests and talents. Unfortunately, none of his talents would be considered "mainstream." So, when I decided that a magic wand would be the perfect wooden gift for him, I had no idea where I would even find one. After doing some super secret undercover work (looking up the magic forums he reads), I located a website... and from there, I located a conversation thread about magic wands... and from there, I located a magic wand maker: Michael of Moonlight Magic.
Although I have never met, or talked to, Michael in person, from the very first email correspondence, I could tell he was an expert at his craft.
I could go on and on about how awesome Michael was, but I don't want this blog post to sound like a Yelp review so I'll simply state the facts:
Michael and I corresponded via email at least 52 times. That means I probably bothered him at least 36 times about color and wood choice and who-knows-what-because-I-am-so-indecisive. And he responded promptly every single time.
I told him that we had little ones and I thought something to protect the wand would be helpful. So he made me this case. He MADE this! Like... with his hands!
- Michael recommended Yew Burl wood for the tips of the wand. I thought they were too "mature" looking because I still like to think I am "young and hip"... and so is my husband. So I asked for the Cocobolo tips. Then I thought... no, he is the expert. Yew Burl. But... really... we are young and hip and cool so Cocobolo. Due to my indecisiveness (see above), he recommended 2 different sets of wooden tips and spacers for the wand. Because Michael's wands have removable pieces, my husband essentially has 2 different wands. Did I tell you he made this case?!
- Last, but definitely not least, he made a baby wand for one of our little ones. My husband and I have decided that we will see who grows up to take an interest in magic and gift that wand to the "worthy" child. Or... we might just have to order another baby wand from Michael.
Michael, thank you so much for the hard work you put into emailing me back and making this beautiful wand for my husband. He absolutely loves it. And, you were right... he likes the Yew Burl tips better.
